Marilla is a highly experienced practitioner dedicated to supporting neurodiverse children, particularly in the area of social skill development. During her 12 years with Autism SA as an Early Intervention Consultant, Marilla led social skills groups, facilitated playgroups, and partnered closely with children, families, educators, and allied professionals to design, deliver, and evaluate specialist disability support services.
Her outstanding contributions to the autism community have been recognised through multiple nominations for the ORD Minnett Appreciation Award. In 2022, she was named the provisional winner of the Enablement Award, acknowledging her outstanding contribution to the field and the positive impact of her work.
Today, through her consultancy Sacred Space, Marilla continues to support children, families, educators, and leaders by providing flexible, relationship-focused, and values-driven services. Her approach is grounded in collaboration, practical strategies, and a deep commitment to helping individuals and communities thrive.
